Sweepers start up to clean downtown Monterrey

In compliance with one of the central axes of the “Revive the Center” program, the Monterrey Public Services Secretariat launched today three of the eight sweepers that will clean the city’s first square daily.

During the intervention on Cristóbal Colón and Venustiano Carranza avenues, the head of the agency, Santos Valdés Salinas, stressed that this is the first of several activities that will take place in the next 180 days within the framework of the “Clean and orderly center” axis. .

“There are several actions that the mayor commented on last Thursday in the Revive el Centro program, today we are here with the start of the sweepers in the Downtown area; yesterday we started with tests and we will be on the shores.

“Right now we start with three sweepers, little by little we are going to incorporate until we reach eight,” he said.

He announced that, in the coming weeks, the garbage cans will be changed and the rehabilitation of the streets will begin.

“We also bring vacuum cleaners and hydrojets that are going to be incorporated, we are going to change the garbage cans, in the coming weeks a new collection route for these cans should begin, it is not only installing them but also collecting the garbage generated by passers-by.

“Later on we are going to incorporate resurfacing in some streets within the city center,” he explained.

Last Thursday, March 30, Mayor Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas announced the “Revive the Center” program that seeks to recover the identity and culture of the first cadre with an investment of 650 million pesos in infrastructure, improvements and new strategic programs.
