For the Swedish Wolves and Chelsea fans, the match is clashing with Donald Duck on TV and it might be sneaking around with the mobile phone here and there in the cabins.
In England, Donald Duck, as you know, does not have much to do with Christmas. In addition, it is Christmas Day, and not Christmas Eve, which is the big day of celebration.
But fans are not happy and see it as an unwanted Christmas present. Christmas Eve is a big travel day in England.
– It is an impossible choice between going to the match or spending time with the family. It’s a Christmas present no one asked for, the Football Supporters Association said in a statement.
The FSA has protested in the past attempts by the TV companies to broadcast matches on Christmas Eve.
According to the schedule, Wolves and Chelsea would have met on December 23, but at the request of the broadcasting companies, the match was moved to the following day.

Away supporters who bought tickets for the match at Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton have been offered free travel by Chelsea.
The last time a Premier League game was played on Christmas Eve was in 1995 when Leeds beat Manchester United at Elland Road 3–1.
The fixture schedule in England is busy over Christmas. The other teams play on Saturday the 23rd. Then there is another round between December 26 and 28 and another over the New Year’s weekend.
Fulham-Arsenal and Tottenham-Bournemouth meet on New Year’s Eve. 2024 then begins with Liverpool–Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve.
For now, however, the holy day of Christmas is protected from football. The last time a match was played on Christmas Day in England was in 1965 when Blackpool faced Blackburn.
In 1983, Brentford attempted a Christmas Day morning match against Wimbledon, but after major protests the match was moved to Christmas Eve.
