As boss of the European branch of the World Health Organization WHO, Kluge warned Thursday that 30 countries had more confirmed cases in the past two weeks. He added that in 11 countries, including Armenia, Albania, Ukraine and thus also Sweden, “accelerated transfers have led to a very significant revival”. If left unchecked, Europe’s health systems will once again come under severe pressure, he said.
According to Tegnell, WHO Europe was not in contact with its public health agency to get a more nuanced picture of the health situation in Sweden.
