Henrik Myllykoski (15) came home from school on Monday around 2.40pm. Later, the father Mika Myllykoski went to see some friends, and when he returned at around 18.45, his son was gone.
The case is discussed in several Swedish media, including The Express.
– What I thought on Monday when he didn’t answer was that the battery on his mobile was probably empty and that he was out with friends. I waited for him, then went to bed. When I woke up on Tuesday morning and looked into his room, he wasn’t there, says father to Expressen.
Around lunchtime on the same day, he reported his son missing, says Myllykoski.
The 15-year-old disappeared from Alingsås, a village in Västra Götaland county, northeast of Gothenburg.
The police are now investigating the disappearance as an abduction, write The evening paper.
Looking for new tracks
– Constant worry
Via the map function on Snapchat, the father and half-sister managed to find the last sign of life from Henrik at a pedestrian crossing close to the father’s home.
The last few nights have been sleepless, says Myllykoski.
– It is a constant concern. You walk around thinking about it all the time.
The father says that he was out looking for Henrik with the car. He still has hope:
– To get my son home. To put an end to this here, he says to Expressen.
Large search operation
Major resources have been mobilized by the police and a major search operation is underway for the 15-year-old. The police have cordoned off an area in the city, according to Aftonbladet.
The police received information in the case which gave rise to the suspicion that it may be an abduction. Three people have currently been arrested and suspected in connection with this, Swedish police announced on Thursday.
Prosecutor Andreas Ekengren currently does not want to go into the suspects’ age, writes Aftonbladet.
– We work broadly and work to find out what is behind this, says the prosecutor.
The Coast Guard is also searching with divers, according to Aftonbladet.
– We are there and contribute resources to the police. We have sent a diving group from Gothenburg, says Pontus Ekström, officer on duty at the Coast Guard.
