Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said the Quran-burning attacks have brought the country’s security situation to the level of World War II.
“The Swedish government has discussed with the Danish government the situation amid ongoing burnings of Holy Scriptures. We are currently in the most serious security situation since World War II,” Kristersson was quoted as saying by the government press service.
According to the prime minister, some states may take advantage of the deteriorating security situation in Sweden. The Swedish and Danish authorities will take steps to remedy the situation.
As reported EADailytoday, July 30, it became known that the Danish government plans to find a constitutional way to ban actions with the burning of the Koran.
“The Danish government will explore the possibility of intervening in special situations where, for example, other countries, cultures and religions are offended and where this could have serious negative consequences for Denmark, not least with regard to security. This, of course, must be done within the framework of the constitutionally protected freedom of expression and in a way that does not change the fact that freedom of expression in Denmark is widespread,” the government said.
