Swedish police investigate “incident” with Joost Klein at the Eurovision Song Contest, participation in the final still undecided

Joost Klein did not perform yesterday during the dress rehearsal of the Eurovision Song Contest final. It is still not clear whether he will be seen during the final.

“The investigation into the incident involving the Dutch artist at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is still ongoing. Discussions are taking place between the EBU and AVROTROS, the Dutch participating broadcaster,” the EBU said in a statement later in the evening.

“While the investigation is ongoing, the EBU has decided that Joost Klein will not perform during the rehearsal, which will be voted on by the juries of the 37 participating countries. Instead, his performance from the second semi-final will be used.” The juries determine 50 percent of the final result.

AVROTROS confirms to NOS that the investigation is still ongoing. “We are awaiting the outcome of this investigation and do not want to say anything about it until then.”
