A 30-year-old Swedish national was confirmed dead in the avalanche in Rauma on Friday. A total of two people were pulled out from under the snow, police told VG.

Another person is seriously injured after the avalanche Friday afternoon. A third person escaped with minor injuries.
– There is no information that more than these three should have been in the avalanche, Operations Director Eivind Klokkersund tells VG.
The three people were part of a tourist group and, according to the police, all must have come from Sweden. The avalanche occurred at the Moanebba mountain in Isfjorden in Rauma, which is a popular hiking area.
The seriously injured person’s condition has not changed, Klokkersund told VG shortly after 9 pm on Friday evening.
The person is now admitted to Molde Hospital.
– Indicates that it was these two who were taken by the snow masses. They were pulled out from under the snow, but we don’t know the details of how long they were under the snow masses, Klokkersund says.
The third person, who suffered minor injuries, was also transported to Molde hospital.
The man, who has now been confirmed dead, was airlifted to St. Olav’s hospital in Trondheim on Friday evening.

Police first received information about the landslide at 13:05, Klokkersund told VG.
– We have alerted all 911 services, air ambulance, rescue helicopter and called in volunteer crews. Due to the strong winds, it took some time for the helicopter to arrive, he explains.
At 2.42pm the police tweeted following:
– Very difficult flight conditions on site. A person from the air ambulance reached the avalanche victims. We are working on getting them out.
According to Klokkersund, the police will organize an investigative case to map out the sequence of events.
