KARLOVY VARY – Swedish hockey forward Lukas Zetterberg has become a reinforcement of extra-league Karlovy Vary. The 26-year-old player has been working in the second division Swedish team Västeras IK until now. In western Bohemia, Zetterberg signed a one-year contract, the club announced on its official website.
“I’m excited and I can’t wait to join the team. I chose Karlovy Vary because it’s a team that doesn’t hide its ambitions and wants to succeed in the playoffs. And I want to be a part of that.” Zetterberg said.
The Västeras native played 58 games for his parent club last season, including the playoffs, with a record of 21 goals and 15 assists. He scored over 20 goals for the second time in a row in the second highest Swedish competition. Zetterberg will join the Karlovy Vary team in the second half of July.
