This was reported this Tuesday by his Danish club, FC Midtjylland (FCM), causing worldwide shock due to an atypical medical case.

“Kristoffer Olsson suffers from an apparently acute brain illness that is not due to any self-mutilation or external factors,” the Danish entity said in a statement, published to put an end to the “rumors” that appeared in the absence of the player.

“The 28-year-old Swedish national team player lost consciousness at home on Tuesday, February 20, and was transferred to Aarhus University Hospital, where he was hospitalized and placed under assisted respiration,” he said.

Olsson, whose exact diagnosis has not been communicated, remains unconscious.

After starting out at Arsenal, the player from Norrköping (eastern Sweden) played for Midtjylland, AIK Stockholm, Krasnodar and Anderlecht, before returning to the Danish club last summer.
