Swedish fans hit by covid – march canceled

Two Swedish fans on site in St. Petersburg have tested positive for covid-19. Something that stops the Swedish supporter march for tonight’s match against Poland. – We are even considering not going to the match, says Gula walls’ CEO Andreas Richt.

For many of the approximately 2,000 Swedish fans on site in St. Petersburg, the plan was to march together to tonight’s group final against Poland. But now they are forced to rethink.

The march is canceled, the Swedish heel Yellow Wall announces on Instagram.

“We were just reached by the extremely sad news that two Swedish fans tested positive for corona. We want everyone to take this very seriously and follow the restrictions that are prescribed. The march to the arena from Alpenhaus is canceled,” they write in the post.

– We recommend not going there (until the march). We are even considering not going to the match. We take this very seriously, Andreas Richt develops for TT.

Critical mnot EM

Richt says that he does not understand how the European Championships can be carried out in a time like now.

– As I said before the European Championships – it is crazy to have a football championship of this magnitude during a pandemic, he says and adds that the Yellow Wall considered not going to the European Championships.

– It’s a pandemic. We have a responsibility. I was quite surprised that this is played with an audience. But now it is so and it is somewhere our task to take care of those who are here.

“No one-man decision”

The status of the infected Swedish supporters is still unclear. Now they expect a ten-day isolation.

– I have talked to the infected people and helped them with contact information so that they can get the help they need, says Andreas Richt.

Now a few intense hours are waiting before the Yellow Wall makes the decision on whether to go to the match or not.

– This is not a one-man decision. I will talk to unions, Camp Sweden and the police before we make a decision, says Richt.
