On the same day that season eight of “Solsidan” premieres, the news comes that the Swedish comedy series is being extended.

The evening paper reports that viewers can also look forward to a season nine and ten.
– We are happy to be able to promise two more seasons in the coming years, says Fredrik Arefalk, channel and content director at TV4, in a press release.
– Thankful
Felix Herngren (56), who is both series creator and plays the role of Alex in the series, says in the announcement that “Solsidan” is what he “always returns to”.
– It is very difficult to say no to working with this wonderful group. When we gather for a new season, it feels like a school reunion, he says in the announcement.
– I am very grateful that the public still watches the series, he adds.
Guest role
The first episode aired in 2010. In the eighth season, which premieres on TV 2 Play tonight, Friday 29 September, hotel king Petter Stordalen (60) appears.
– I think it was very nice to be asked to take part in an episode of “Solsidan”. It has significantly increased my respect for being an actor, Stordalen told VG this summer.
The role is the Norwegian’s debut as an actor.
