A Swedish citizen died in the avalanche in Rauma
A 30-year-old Swedish man died in the avalanche in Rauma a Møre og Romsdal.
– In consultation with next of kin, police can now confirm that a 30-year-old Swedish citizen died in the avalanche, police wrote on Twitter.
Three Swedish skiers were caught in an avalanche in Rauma on Friday afternoon.
It is now clear that one person has lost their life, according to the police in Møre og Romsdal. Another is seriously injured and the last has minor injuries, according to police.
Police in Møre og Romsdal received a report of the landslide shortly after 1pm on Friday. Police, firefighters and ambulances have moved. The Red Cross, Norwegian Rescue Dogs and Norwegian People’s Aid also attended.
– We have now arrived and put on skis to go up the mountain, Øystein Valde, district director of the Red Cross, told NRK on Friday afternoon.
A moderate avalanche risk has been reported in the area.
