Swedish candy company Cloetta wants to close a branch in Turnhout, unions are not informed

Cloetta, known for brands such as Sportlife chewing gum and King peppermint, wants to close a total of three branches, two in the Netherlands and one in Belgium (Turnhout), the company said. At the same time, it wants to build a completely new factory in the Netherlands to bring together the production from the three branches.

The three branches together employ 350 people. The majority would be able to work in the new location, Cloetta assures. The company does not say exactly where it will be in the Netherlands. 115 people work in Turnhout.
