Swedish Brasserie-owned Taverna Brillo goes bankrupt

Reconstruction, new co-owners and a restart of the restaurant weren’t sufficient. Now Swedish Brasserie Taverna Brillo has filed for chapter, writes Di.se.

Swedish Brasserie’s restaurant Taverna Brillo at Stureplan in Stockholm has filed for chapter. Final summer time, the restaurant started a company restructuring, which led to bringing in new co-owners. The restart of the restaurant failed and now the massive restaurant at Stureplan goes bankrupt.

In September, it was introduced that the well-known cooks Danyel Couet and Sebastian Thureson would flip the tide.

– It’s no secret that Taverna Brillo struggled with profitability for a very long time. Sadly, now we have not managed to reverse the pattern after the reconstruction, says Michael Porseryd, CEO of Swedish Brasseries and foremost proprietor of Taverna Brillo, to Di.se.

Taverna Brillo was began in 2012 by Svenska Brasseries and has a premises of roughly 1,700 sq. meters and 250 seats. Since its inception, the restaurant has been positioned at Sturegatan 6 within the property Sperlingens Backe 30, which is owned by SEB Trygg Liv.

What is going to occur to the massive premises continues to be unknown.
