On Thursday this week, the news came that the Swedish artist Lasse Berghagen has passed away. His family confirmed this to the Swedish news agency TT. He lived to be 78 years old.

Just over a month ago, the artist was placed in an artificial coma after heart surgery, but several media outlets reported that he was out of the coma just a few weeks ago. Then his daughter stated that he was making progress.

There were several people who received the news of his death with great sadness, and among them is Pernilla Wahlgren (55). This summer she was the new presenter of “Allsång på Skansen”, which Berghagen led from 1994-2003.

Swedish The evening paper describes that Wahlgren “bursts into tears” when she has to talk about the grief after Berghagen’s death.

– He will be incredibly missed and will forever be remembered, she says.

She remembers him with enormous warmth.

– A nightmare

– I will always feel related to him as I have taken over the honorable role of presenter of “Allsång på Skansen”. He was the one who got the program to where it is today and I will always have him with me.

According to Wahlgren, Berghagen has always been a part of her life. Even before she took her place in the limelight, she knew him well.

– I grew up with him. Both through the fact that he was a colleague of my mother and father, but also through the concerts he had in the pubs. I actually also had a poster of him in my youth room, she says to Aftonbladet.
