This weekend one of Europe’s premier car auctions is held at Villa Erba on Lake Como in Italy. The main number of RM Sotheby’s auction is The Aurora Collection owned by Swedish billionaire Aje Philipson, 80. He is heir to the Philipson car empire and has a car collection worth up to SEK 500 million. The cars sold this weekend can be worth as much as almost SEK 300 million. They are so valuable that they are guarded by armed guards.

Aje Philipson has made the decision to sell the cars since he suffered from bone disease, although the prognosis is good, a large collection of exclusive cars means a lot of work.
– It’s a bit sad, I’ve owned many for 50 years, of course it’s a bit sad. But you can’t see it that way, you have the right to make an exit at some point too, he says The Express.
