Performance center kast in Växjö was visited by noble spearheads when it was time for a development meeting and it was polished on technology and screened.
This weekend, Sweden’s javelin elite at both senior and junior level and their coaches gathered for a development meeting at the Performance Center in Växjö. About 50 active people and coaches were present.
Technology development and physical training/physical capacity were in focus. Screening (functional analysis in cast), individual conversations, lecture on interpretation of test results and lecture on anti-doping were also carried out.
Instructors were Anna Wessman, Arto Thor, Kari Tuomela, Jonas Mellblom, Andreas Wulff and Anna Ek screened. The meeting was also attended by Swedish javelin thrower (among others) Anders Borgström.
– We continue to work on the technical and physical development of the javelin throwers. I think we will see a lot of long javelin throws this summer, but the focus is mainly further down the line. It is a long-term perspective we must have, says Anders Axlid, responsible at PC kast in Växjö.
