Sweden announced in May that it would invite Ukrainian pilots and crews to undergo initial training with the Gripen.
“The orientation exercise has been completed and according to the report I received from the defense forces, the exercise went well,” Jonsson said.
Initial training “included test flights in both airplanes and simulators, as well as briefing sessions for the ground crew,” Jonson said.
The experience “will form the basis of ongoing work to determine” whether Sweden can donate some of its Gripens, Jonsson added.
