“The authorities currently have to face three parallel threats to Sweden’s internal security: terrorism and violent extremism, agents of countries hostile to Sweden and serious organized crime,” the minister said.
“In August, we decided to raise the threat of terrorism from the third to the fourth level. The increase in the level of the threat of terrorism was a clear signal to the responsible authorities to take the necessary measures to strengthen security so that the public can live a normal life. It is believed that Sweden has become a priority target for violent Islamists,” said Strommer.

The burning of the Koran in Sweden has angered a number of Muslim countries, which have demanded that the Swedish government not allow it. The most serious attack against Sweden was made by Turkey, for whose leadership the burning of the Koran was one of the main reasons why it blocked Sweden’s entry into NATO.
Already in July, the Swedish security service “Sapo” announced that the security situation in the country has worsened, citing the recent protests during which the Muslim holy scriptures, the Koran, were burned.
