Flight 3 – ‘Mama ŠČ!’
And say that we have always had it for Croatia. The boat from Pula to Zadar, the beach of Šibenik, the waterfalls of Plitvice: nothing to criticize, ten out of ten, douze points from the Belgian jury. But those sweet memories of our graduation trip are in danger of being tarnished forever by this Nazi horror show on LSD. “Mama bought a tractor”, sing the notorious foul-mouthed Let 3, who previously gained fame by masturbating in a video clip and sometimes performing naked. So they have held back on the Eurovision stage, so to speak.
And yes, it is commendable, such an anti-war song as Mama ŠČ! (loosely translated: Mother Russia) who dismisses Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian buddy Lukashenko as a couple of psychopaths. And yes, it’s all irony and avant-garde and cult. We get it. But if we want to stay friends, Croatia, we’re going to have to get one thing right. You’ll never let Let 3 out of the Balkans again, and we’ll pretend we’ve never seen those faded bompa underpants. Deal? (AVB)
