“Sweden wins Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with Loreen’s ‘Tattoo'”

Sweden has won the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool. Singer Loreen won with her song Tattooabout the pain of a broken relationship.

She received the most points from the professional juries and 583 points in total. Käärjä from Finland came in second place with 526 points, who received more points from the public. Third place is for Israel, entry Noa Kirel received 362 points.

The singer calls the victory overwhelming and is happy and grateful:

During the act, Loreen crawled through sand, with an LED screen below and just above her. The Eurovision legend won the festival in 2012 with Euphoria.

She is the second person to win the festival twice and the first woman to do so. Johnny Logan won twice as a singer for Ireland and once as a songwriter.

It is the seventh time that Sweden has won the music competition. This equals the country of Ireland. Tattoo has been in the European charts for weeks.

26 countries competed for the points. Of the finalists, Germany lost, by a total of 21 points. Belgium finished seventh with 182 points.

The Dutch jury awarded 12 points to Sweden. Singer S10, who participated in S10 last year on behalf of the Netherlands, handed out the points.

The Dutch Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper stranded in the first semifinal last Tuesday. The Netherlands was allowed to vote tonight.
