Both Sweden and Denmark concluded that the explosions caused leaks in the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, but did not indicate who is responsible for them.
World leaders believe there has been sabotage.
“I have decided to conduct several further investigations at the crime scene together with the security police,” said prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist.
“The armed forces, after receiving a related request, have decided to provide support in the investigation,” the statement read.
As the prosecutor explained, the armed forces have the resources and expertise to investigate the crime scene “as they wish”.
The Swedish Armed Forces said this week that they will conduct their own investigations with trawlers on the seabed in the area of the spill.
