Both teams were very cautious in the first period, and the scoreless score at the end matched that too. The Swedes could have given Tömmernes the lead, but it fails.
In the second act, the goals started falling. In the 28th minute Jacob de la Rose gave Tre kronor the lead when he hit the bar with an unprepared shot between the hoops where Dahlbeck found. After Wallmark’s foul before the break, the Swiss played the first extra period of the match, Loeffel and Fuchs had chances to equalize, but goalkeeper Högberg saved the Swedes from disaster.
But only temporarily. In the 34th minute he closes the winning action with a shot on goal from Riat’s circle. However, in the 38th minute the home team made a passing error and Olofsson gave the lead back to the Swedish team. 37 seconds before the second break, the Swedes could jump to a two-goal gap, as Loeffel fouled Kovacs on the run, but did not convert the ordered free kick.
In the 50th minute the Swiss played in numerical advantage for the second time in the duel, but without success. As the end approached, they were forced to play without a goalkeeper. And the risk paid off for them: with only 44 seconds left, Kukan made sure that even the Swiss’ fourth appearance of the season after three games at the tournament in Karjala ended again with the same result of 2:2 after 60 minutes .
However, in the end, the Swedes celebrated victory. In overtime, Jacob de la Rose and Sörensen entered a two-on-one renumbering, who beat Waeber with a no-prep shot.
