Sweden switched on police after “Shitstorm” against Berg

Sweden’s football association wants to take action against hateful comments on social networks against national player Marcus Berg. The 34-year-old was attacked there after a big chance missed on Monday evening at the European Championship opener of the Swedes in Seville against Spain (0-0). Security chief Martin Fredman confirmed to the broadcaster SVT Sport on Tuesday that a report should be made and sent to the police. That happens in coordination and consultation with Berg.

In addition to serious insults, there should also have been comments that the Swedes believe would pose a threat. “There are probably many who wake up today and regret what they wrote yesterday,” said Fredman. “But it is possible that you will receive a call from the police.” The volume of the hate comments was difficult to get under control, stated the Swedish association official. “We checked our channels and Marcus’ channels, but there’s so much out there.”

Even after team player Dejan Kulusevski’s positive coronavirus findings, employees of the Swedish association tried to delete hate comments. In which the 21-year-old from Juventus Turin was accused, among other things, of carrying the virus into the squad.
