President Vladimir Zelensky during a visit to Brussels for a summit, the EU requested Jas 39 Gripen combat aircraft from Sweden, but Stockholm refused. It is reported by the Swedish edition SVT.

According to Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, expanded support for weapons in the form of such combat aircraft is currently irrelevant.
“We have a very big need for aircraft that we have ourselves,” he said.
According to journalists, in addition to modern fighter jets, Zelensky also requested long-range missiles, ammunition and artillery.
Defense Minister Reznikov spoke about Gripens as one of the possible alternatives to the F-16 back in the summer.
- Also, Zelensky today officially asked Slovakia for MiGs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: they promise to do “everything possible” there.
- According to Zelensky, the leaders of some states have declared their readiness to provide combat aircraft to Ukraine. He didn’t elaborate.
