– Sweden has a good chance of winning a medal. It could even be gold, above all when the USA is not participating, says SVT Sports expert Lars Frölander.
Canada won the third and final heat in 3.58.63, with Sweden second (also overall) in 3.59.35.
– We would make it to the final and do our best race but save the absolute last for tonight. I think we do a good swim, says Michelle Coleman, who finished the freestyle with a swim of 54.05, to SVT Sport.
Opening to bring Sjöström into the team
Hanna Rosvall (back, 1.01.23), Sophie Hansson (breast, 1.07.23) and Louise Hansson (butterfly, 56.84) were the others in the team.
Sarah Sjöström was not in the trial this morning and there is an opening for her.
– The likely thing is that Sarah Sjöström will be included in the final freestyle and will otherwise swim with the same team, says commentator Niklas Nord.
The team can be lined up in different constellations as Sjöström is the world’s best in both butterfly and freestyle. The final will be decided at 18.55.
A possible variation is that Michelle Coleman takes the backstroke in the final, a variation she is used to.
– I have no idea what the plans are. We’ll see what the coaches come up with, says Coleman to TT.
