Swedish Prime Minister allowed the deployment of NATO troops in the country before Stockholm joins the alliance

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Defense Minister Paul Jonsson said that Stockholm plans to allow NATO to station troops on its territory even before formal entry into the alliance. They noted that the country’s authorities expect to soon conduct joint preparations in the region for future operations.

“The training may consist in the temporary deployment of foreign equipment and personnel in Sweden. This decision sends a clear message to Russia and bolsters Sweden’s defenses.”

quotes ministers agency Reuters.

Kristersson and Jonsson believe that in the near future Russia will continue to be a “threat to neighboring countries.”

Earlier it was reported that NATO is preparing to send its troops to Ukraine in July this year.
