Left-back Jonna Andersson is back in the squad after his covid infection, but it will be right-back Glas who starts on the left in the four-back line when instead Amanda Ilestedt continues on the right.
– I’m open to it, Glas has said about the position as left back.
– If Peter (confederation captain Gerhardsson) thinks I should play there, then I can absolutely stand up and do it.
Caroline Seger, who has been pulled with a heel injury, is back on the bench. But in the attack, Sofia Jakobsson gets her first chance in this championship. Jakobsson – who replaces Johanna Rytting Kaneryd – is on paper written on the left in the three-man attack, while the more experienced left forward Fridolina Rolfö looks set to start on the right.
Sweden’s starting eleven (4–3–3):
Hedvig Lindahl – Amanda Ilestedt, Linda Sembrant, Magdalena Eriksson, Hanna Glas – Filippa Angeldahl, Kosovare Asllani, Nathalie Björn – Fridolina Rolfö, Stina Blackstenius, Sofia Jakobsson.
England went as the train in the group stage, and turned in the quarter-finals 0–1 to 2–1 against Spain. Sweden has received criticism for its play in the EC, but got two wins and a cross from the group stage. In the quarter-final against Belgium, there were a cavalcade of chances – but it was “only” 1-0 after a late goal in extra time.
England make no changes to their starting line-up.
England’s starting eleven (4–3–3):
Mary Earps – Lucy Bronze, Millie Bright, Leah Williamson, Rachel Daly – Georgia Stanway, Farn Kirby, Kiera Walsh – Beth Mead, Ellen White, Lauren Hemp.
