When last collection organized at Salins-les-Bains, dated January 28, 42 donors presented themselves, of which 38 were collected. “There are fewer donations, which frequently leads to a decrease in the reserves of blood products while the needs of patients remain important », note the volunteers of the Amicale des donors de sang.
Make an appointment online
As a reminder, the donation is open to anyone aged 18 to 70 in good health and weighing at least 50 kg. For a first donation, you must show up with an identity document and answer a health questionnaire.
In this period of Covid-19, you must make an appointment online at “mon-rdv-dondesang.efs.sante.fr” and reserve a time slot in order to guarantee everyone’s safety, ensure barrier gestures and measures of physical distancing recommended by the government. Any eligible donor on the day of the collection will receive an invitation by email or text message on D-5 with the link for making an appointment for the collection concerned. Without an appointment, it will still be possible to donate blood depending on the number of blood drives.
Before showing up for a donation anyone with covid-19 must wait 28 days after symptoms have ended or 42 days after symptoms started. Regarding blood donation and vaccination there is no contraindication after having been vaccinated against covid-19.
The next collection will take place Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the common room, avenue Charles de Gaulle. A snack is always offered while respecting the sanitary measures. The president of the association, Jocelyne Baron, hopes for this collection, to welcome more donors and remains available to answer questions.
