Swear. A 16-year-old footballer continues her apprenticeship at the Dijon club

So what today? A year later, Emma Courdier maintains very close contact with Champagnole. “I like to follow the results of FC Champagnole teams and come to see matches when I can, but I am still well taken at DFCO. I changed schools for the Lycée les Arcades, heading towards a professional baccalaureate in customer relations professions, ”emphasizes Emma Courdier, who seems to have moved up a gear in terms of training.

She would like to play more regularly

“Normally, we do six training sessions plus the match and, with the Covid-19, it’s seven sessions, the match being replaced by a session on Sunday. I’m going back to Champagnole anyway, but I’m leaving on Sunday morning, ”continues Emma, who has played under 17 years old, but regularly joins the under 19s.

Emma regrets not being able to play more regularly. “The last match was on October 18 and a 6-0 victory against Strasbourg in U19. We played the five first leg and the first return match”, explains the goalkeeper who has started five times in U19.

“We lost 6-1 in Lyon, 2-1 against Reims, and beat Strasbourg, then Saint-Etienne and Vendenheim”, details Emma Courdier who does not lack ambition.

Be more often with the pro group

“We are two goalkeepers of the same age who play in U19, so we will have two more seasons to harden ourselves. I have trained a few times with the pro group and my goal is to be there more often. I know there are steps to take, but my main goal is to sign a professional contract with the DFCO. It will go through matches with the reserve group and especially a lot of work. I know that I have to work a lot to improve myself, in particular to work on the kicking game (with both feet), and also the management on the crosses. I’m already training with the reserve group and it’s good for confidence and progression, ”admits Emma Courdier.
