After a break that coincided with Covid, the band released in 2023 The Beggartheir most recent project. Now, at the height of several hours, even months, tirelessly dedicated to their music, the sextet shares Live Ropea project featuring unusual versions of their compositions Rope, The Beggar, The Hanging Man, Away, Birthing et Cathedrals of Heaven, The Memorius et Leaving Meaning.

About this project, the leader Michael Gira mentions: “I’m not being mystical when I say that the sound we ultimately generated in our live performances became a living, autonomous entity that played us like puppets. I felt it, so I know it happened. So while our physical and psychic dedication to the effort was crucial, we can’t in good faith take credit for the experience. We threw ourselves into the wind and the hand of God carried us forward.”
