An R&B group that emerged in the late 90s, Ideal lost one of its 4 members, Cedrick Cotton, better known by the pseudonym Swab. It was his older brother, Maverick Cotton, also an integral part of the quartet, who broke the sad news on Instagram. : “This is the hardest thing I have ever posted. This morning my little brother was taken from this world for no reason. I’m having such a hard time realizing right now. Please keep my family and I in your prayers during these difficult times. I love you, my little brother.”Details of his death have not been officially released, but many witnesses and family members say the 46-year-old singer was murdered. The victim of several stab wounds, he was reportedly left for dead in a grocery store he used to frequent in southwest Houston. Suddenly, his family launched an appeal asking the assailant to surrender. “Whoever you are, go. You know, it’s time to end this nonsense. Killing people is not the right thing to do… ”, said Delores Floyd, his mother, who spoke up to express her grief: “He took his bike for a ride, came over, and smoked a cigarette. A first album with colossal success
Composed of the 2 brothers, Maverick and Cedrick “Swab”Cotton along with their cousin PZ, and their high school friend J-Dante, Ideal started in 1999 and quickly became successful with 2 notable songs called Get Gone and Whatever. On August 24 of the same year, the group released their first self-titled album on the Virgin Records label. An opus acclaimed by fans which will sell more than 615,000 copies. After a long absence, the group signed with Neutral Ground / Universal Records in order to start working on a second album called From Now On. A project in which several renowned producers such as Bryan-Michael Cox, Rockwilder, Nisan Stewart, Mike City and Battle Cat were to participate. He even whispered that the band had to rock the song Makin’ Time in collaboration with Cee-Lo Green, by Gnarls Barkley, as a 1st single. However, neither title nor album finally saw the light of day, to the chagrin of Ideal… whose career was cut short!
