He commented on his Facebook page, “The first stage is over, it was fast and slow, ther were rocks and everything except dunes. I didn’t have a very good starting position, I went seventh and it took some time to catch up with them as there was a lot of dust. After that, there were only two tracks and I lost 4-5 minutes anyway,so I wouldn’t get lost. After refueling, I caught up, the Honda riders overtook me, I kept behind them and didn’t have to navigate that much. The fourteenth place is great, we have no technical problems, everything is as it should be.”
The race continues with a challenging two-day stage, starting and finishing in Bisha, and taking competitors through the heart of the Rub’ al-Khali desert. This leg will test the racers’ navigational skills and endurance, as they will bivouac without team support in the vast, unforgiving desert. A total of 1,058 kilometers awaits, with 967 kilometers of timed special stages.
The Dakar Rally is more than just a race; it’s a test of human limits, a testament to the spirit of adventure, and a showcase of astonishing athleticism.
