“Instead of convincingly giving our own answers, instead of conveying to society the feasible and socially just solutions that we presented to TIF for the private debt, the galloping housing crisis, we proved to be inferior to society’s needs. Instead of leading the political developments, we have reached the point where our credibility has been taken. Urgently, we have to change course” she emphasized in her speech to the Central Committee Rania Svigou.
The secretary of the party argued, among other things, that in SYRIZA there are neither rivals nor enemies. “Our opponent is the Right and its policies. Personal attacks, characterizations, do not belong to the culture of the left, progressive space” he said characteristically.
“We can and must operate at the same time on two levels, in that of the reconstruction and renewal of the party, but also in the field of the opposition” he noted at another point and continued:
“To fulfill the mandate we received for a militant, reliable official opposition and to fight, inside and outside the parliament, for the departure of this government of the Right, of maintenance, of entanglement, which only cares for the few but powerful”.

– You know my position that I expressed on the procedure, at the last meeting. But it was a democratic decision, completely in accordance with our Statutory provisions. Its result was clear, and its implications self-evident.
– To show the maximum responsibility, but also the maximum collective spirit, strictly observing all the procedures, as provided by our Statute. To proceed with an extraordinary congress and elections for president and KE, in an organized manner, with democracy and with collective decisions. Honoring our role, and respecting the decisions of the competent bodies. With unity and camaraderie.
