“After a long illness, SGE died this morning at his home, surrounded by family. His daughter Lina, his son Johan and his wife Amana and grandson Sky, his father Sven, his girlfriend Yanisette and his son Alcides, their brother Lars-Erik with Jumnong’s wife asked that the family respect their wishes to mourn privately and not be contacted,” wrote the site svengoraneriksson.com.

Earlier this year, Sven-Goran Eriksson announced that he was suffering from terminal pancreatic cancer. He only has a maximum life expectancy of another year.
Last March, Eriksson had the opportunity to train for the last time. He coached Liverpool, the club he had long dreamed of, in a charity match against Ajax.
Sven-Goran Eriksson has had a lot of experience in football. He has played at Benfica, AS Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Lazio, Manchester City, Leicester City, Ivory Coast National Team, Philippine National Team, and several Chinese clubs.
He was able to lead Benfica and Lazio to league championships, and also impressed in Europe with that club. All in all, Sven-Goran Eriksson has coached 1,207 games, won 629 times, drawn 320 times and lost 270 times.
