Düdelsheim (fsr). The women’s soccer team of SV Phönix Düdelsheim have won their second game of the season in the Southern Association League. The team of new coach Alexander Fievet celebrated a 3:2 victory at fellow promoted team SV Niederursel.

SV Niederursel – SV Phönix Düdelsheim 2:3 (1:2). Zoe Altenburg justified her first start in the starting eleven by pushing the ball over the line from the crowd in the third minute. However, the lead was lost early on. A major misplaced pass in the build-up play by Katharina Hilbert invited SVN player Melissa Gomes to make it 1:1 (6th). “That was a gift,” said SVP coach Alexander Fievet. The turbulent opening phase continued to follow one another, because just two minutes later the guests were celebrating again: Anastasia Vaubel flicked the ball into the top right corner from 20 meters away from the goal – a dream goal. “At that point, you couldn’t guess which way the game would go,” remembered Alexander Fievet. However, it quickly became clear to everyone involved that fellow promoted team SV Niederursel, with its physical style of play, would challenge the SVP women far more than most of the group league teams did last season. And so an intense match developed in the Frankfurt district. “A real 50:50 game,” said Fievet.

Meanwhile, the defense lines dominated. Both teams defended well and hardly allowed the opponent any scoring opportunities. In the 78th minute, a set piece led to what seemed to be the preliminary decision. Franziska Rüdiger converted a direct free kick in a spectacular fashion to make it 1:3. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, SV Niederursel came close again with a converted handball penalty. As the referee extended stoppage time until the 101st minute, the guests even had to worry about the three points again. However, the Fievet team won 3:2.

Next Saturday, the Büdingen district representative will once again be playing away. The Düdelsheim women will then have to play against DJK-SSG Darmstadt at 6 p.m.
