To promote club sport, Zurich Insurance has launched a competition. Clubs could present their sport in the form of photos or videos. The finished works were uploaded to the Facebook pages of the regional directorates. The posts with the most likes in the regions won 500 euros.

The girls from SV Grafenwöhr Tanzen also took part. In their self-made video, they showed scenes from performances and training and let their dancers have their say why they love their sport so much. This is about planning, preparation, competitions, awards and friendship. They also staged their Facebook challenge, which was launched during the Corona period.

With 521 responses, the girls left all their competitors far behind, which meant they were sure to get 500 euros. But the feedback was also great in a national comparison: Germany-wide, all departments had the most likes. There was a bonus of another 500 euros for this. Angela Schecklmann-Braunreuther from the Pressather regional directorate personally presented dance director Tina Neuber with the check for the 1000 euros. She praised the great contributions of the participating clubs.

“Dance Your Style” also took place online

Willows in the Upper Palatinate

Neuber wants to use the money for the annual summer show. After this was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, the department also canceled it for 2021. The uncertainty as to when there will be training again and whether a big event can take place in the summer of next year was too great.

With the money, a big event will then take place in the hopefully freshly renovated town hall. Costumes have to be bought new, because after two years without a show the children have outgrown them. Social cohesion should also be promoted. Associations have a hard time keeping their members together during the corona measures. Some of the dancers have already announced their departure.
