Suzuki XL7 Hybrid officially launched in Indonesia. The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is sold from IDR 283 million.
After Ertiga and Grand Vitara, Suzuki’s hybrid car variants are increasing. This time it was the turn of the 7-seater XL7 low SUV which was embedded with Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) technology.
Not unlike the conventional series, the XL7 Hybrid is still equipped with a K15B 4-cylinder engine with a capacity of 1.4622 cc. This machine is capable of producing power of 103.3 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm.
But because it has been mated with SHVS technology, the XL7 Hybrid is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 10Ah which is also paired with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG).
Even though the battery capacity is larger than the Ertiga Hybrid which is only 6Ah, there is no visible difference in the dimensions of the battery on the XL7 Hybrid. The location of the battery placement is still under the front passenger seat
The hybrid technology presented by Suzuki does not make the car engine more powerful, but still contributes power assistance for more responsive acceleration.
SHVS can also provide power to the car’s electricity when the engine auto start-stop feature is functioning. Engine auto start-stop itself is a feature that can make a car engine turn itself off when it stops at a red light or when it is stuck.
That way, the hybrid technology embedded in the XL7 can help reduce fuel consumption in cars. So that makes the XL7 Hybrid more efficient and can reduce the amount of exhaust emissions.
Apart from the technology, the New XL7 Hybrid also comes with a refresher on the exterior and interior appearance. This refresher makes some of the car’s instruments displayed more in black tones, thus making it look more sporty and elegant.
On the exterior, there is a change in the color of the front grille, which was previously chrome in color, now comes in black on the Alpha and Beta variants. Then, black is also the basic color on the wheels of this car.
Then the interior also comes dominated by black and gray. Then on the dashboard it also comes with a glossy black wood motif which adds an elegant impression to this car.
In terms of dimensions, the New XL7 Hybrid has not undergone any changes from the previous version, which has a length of 4,450 mm, width of 1,775 mm, height of 1,710 mm, and a ground clearance of 200 mm.
Please note that this hybrid technology is only present in the Alpha and Beta variants of the XL7. As for the lowest variant, namely the Zeta, it only gets a facelift.
