What will happen to Joan Mir and Alex Rins after Suzuki rumored to be leaving MotoGP after the 2022 season?
Shocking news came from the MotoGP paddock after the test which took place at the Jerez Circuit, Spain, Monday (2/5). Suzuki is rumored to be leaving MotoGP after the 2022 season after experiencing a financial crisis.
The rumor was surprising because Suzuki had signed a commitment to appear in MotoGP until 2026. A contract agreement was made between Suzuki and Dorna, as the manager of MotoGP, in April 2021.
Suzuki’s decision to withdraw from MotoGP will also affect two racers, Joan Mir and Alex Rins. The contracts of the two riders will expire after the 2022 MotoGP. Although there have been contract extension negotiations, Mir and Rins will certainly have to find a new team if Suzuki withdraws from MotoGP.
Quoted from Sky Sports, Mir is claimed to have had a new team in MotoGP 2023 after Suzuki pulled out. The 2020 MotoGP world champion is said to have reached an agreement with Repsol Honda to replace Pol Espargaro.
Thus we will see a duet of two MotoGP world champions, Marc Marquez and Joan Mir, in MotoGP 2023 if Suzuki really comes out.

The conditions that Rins faced were unclear. However, the Spaniard still has several options to race in MotoGP next season.
Rins is claimed to have the opportunity to replace Fabio Quartararo, who has not yet extended his contract. If Quartararo stays at Yamaha, Rins could also be Ducati’s choice as a replacement for Jack Miller after Jorge Martin has been inconsistent this season.
Some of the teams that could become Rins’ new port in MotoGP 2023 are Aprilia and RNF Yamaha.
