Suzuki will leave the MotoGP class at the end of this season. The Japanese engine manufacturer made this known to all staff during the test at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto on Monday.
A quiet day of testing for the MotoGP class at the Circuito de Jerez – ngel Nieto ended Monday night with groundbreaking news. Team Suzuki Ecstar management had gathered the entire team to announce that Suzuki will be withdrawing from the MotoGP class at the end of this season.
Very remarkable and surprising news in itself, of course, but Suzuki recently signed a contract with Dorna that would keep them in the MotoGP class until the end of 2026.
In addition, Joan Mir and Alex Rins will be without a seat at the end of the year. Mir will reportedly become Marc Marquez’s teammate at Repsol Honda, where Rins will end up is not yet known.
Some Team Suzuki Ecstar team members have already confirmed the news, an official press release from Suzuki is expected later in the evening.
