PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) gave a strong signal that it would launch Suzuki Jimny 5 door in Indonesia. In fact, they admit, these adventurous vehicles match the character of consumers in the country.
Harold Donnel as Head of Brand Development & Marketing Research 4W at PT SIS said that his party was trying to bring the 5-door Suzuki Jimny into Indonesia. According to him, regardless of the price that will be set, the vehicle will sell well.
“Just pray for it to be able to enter the Indonesian market because we feel that the 5-door Jimny has great potential for the Indonesian market. In whatever price range it will be set, it can still offer its own compact and functionality for the market here,” said Harold when met in Jogja, not long ago.

Harold thought that the emergence of the 5-door Suzuki Jimny would not eat up the 3-door Jimny market, which launched first. Because, even though they were born from the same model, the two cars have different target markets.
“Because we believe, the segmentation of the two products is very different. I think the 5-door Jim is very interesting. If there is new news, we will definitely update it to my friends,” he said.
Unfortunately, when asked when the exact date was, he still seemed to keep his mouth shut. He also could not say whether the vehicle would be produced locally or imported entirely from India.
“Well… for that, we will provide further information (about imports from India or self-production),” he said.

It is known, the 5-door Suzuki Jimny has previously been introduced in India. These dashing vehicles are priced starting at IDR 216 million to IDR 269 million.
The 5-door Jimny is equipped with a 1,500 cc four-cylinder engine with a burst of power of 104.8 PS and 134.2 Nm of torque. These specifications are channeled to all four wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a five-speed manual.
In India, the 5-door Suzuki Jimny is competing with local products such as Mahindra Thar, which is still equipped with a 4×2 drive.
