The Japanese carmaker introduced the Suzuki Swace model, which is a disguised Toyota Corolla
-
It will be the first station wagon in its current offer, with a hybrid engine under the hood
-
The car will go on sale in Europe early next year
Japanese carmaker Suzuki has prepared another model for the European market, which is actually only a slightly modified Toyota. After plug-in hybrid SUV Acrosswhich is in fact Toyota RAV4, it’s Suzuki Swace’s turn. Even a less astute driver will immediately recognize it Toyotu Corolla Touring Sports.
Of course, Suzuki voluntarily admits to its cooperation with the world’s largest carmaker. The reason is not so much her interest in the station wagon body, which she does not have in her current portfolio, but rather what the Toyota Corolla has under the hood. Hybrid propulsion is very suitable for driving emissions.
The Toyota RAV4 charging hybrid will cover over 1,300 km, but so far only in Japan
The Suzuki Swace will only be sold as a full-hybrid. It combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor. The system should have a power of 90 kW (122 hp) To this is added a battery with a capacity of 3.6 kWh, which allows you to drive several kilometers purely on electricity. The result is such low consumption that the carmaker is not yet talking about. However, it can be estimated that it will be similar to the Toyota, ie about 3.3 liters of gasoline per 100 km.
The Suzuki Swace is Toyota’s first station wagon in twenty years. In addition, it is also the first full-hybrid in its offer. Together with the Suzuki Across, which is a plug-in hybrid, it will help reduce the brand’s overall emissions. That is, if there are interest in such modified cars among traditional Suzuki customers.
