There are cars that, no matter how attractive they are, they are far from being the favorites of the general public. Whether due to its characteristics, its options for use, size, price or other factors such as consumption, there are certain car models that fail to obtain a high market share in the market.
However, there are events in everyday life that can tip the balance in favor of these more unique models. It has been, after the passage of the storm Filomena through Spain and a week of ice and cold, the case of off-road vehicles. Although they were more sought after for a few years (before the 2008 crisis), SUVs have lost their public to other more affordable and versatile vehicles such as SUVs.
The driving difficulties that the past snowfall has presented have revealed that, in the event that conditions compromise road safety, the traditional 4×4 are the models that best respond to these situations.
A study published by the vertical portal Autocasión has released significant data in this regard: searches for SUVs on the internet have exploded these days, increasing up to 23.8% in relation to usual.
The performance of the SUVs have made them unique, especially in those days when the snow prevented the circulation of other models. Images in those that 4×4 managed to move to cover emergencies when it seemed impossible to travel on the streets of Madrid has made them more desirable cars and, therefore, more sought after.
Among the models available now on the market, the one that has most attracted the attention of drivers has been the Toyota Land Cruiser, which has increased its number of searches by 280%. They are followed by other off-road vehicles such as the Suzuki Jimmy, with an increase of 217% in searches or the Jeep Wrangler, which grew by 209%.
