Sustainable tourism: getting to know Italy and its beauties by walking through woods, villages and archaeological parks

ROMA – From large national parks to smaller islands passing through centuries-old woods, villages and archaeological areas. There are hundreds of places featured in the 6th edition of WalkNaturean initiative promoted by the National Association of Environmental Hiking Guides (Aiga).

Between circular economy and biodiversity. On 26 and 27 October, those who love outdoor tourism will be able to take part in the free excursions offered by the guides Aiga in all Italian regions with specific focuses on nature and its biodiversity, the issues of the circular economy and responsible tourism, historical-archaeological narratives, the knowledge and flavors of local traditions. Two days in which around 300 professional guides will make their many skills available in over 230 walks accessible to all citizens of all ages, until all available places are filled.

The places of the walks. It will be possible to choose between 27 excursions in Lombardy, 23 in Emilia-Romagna, 21 in Lazio, 20 in Veneto, 19 in Sicily, 18 in Calabria, 14 in Abruzzo and, to follow, another 80 possibilities to discover all of them in an original and authentic way. the other regions. The complete list of excursions is available on the Aigae website, it is important to hurry because the number of participants on each route is limited. “This year too, our association has used its experience and professionalism with enthusiasm and generosity to make the natural and cultural beauties of our country known to the general public” – comments Guglielmo Ruggiero, AIGAE president. “An opportunity to raise awareness of the precious role played by professional guides in the territories, for the development of ecotourism and the protection of sometimes little-known areas”.
