Fully booked Agri-Photovoltaic Forum Saxony 2024
The event at the Thallwitz farm near Wurzen, which was fully booked with 100 participants, offered insights into the economic and legal framework of agri-photovoltaics as well as first-hand practical experience. The experts not only highlighted the technical and ecological advantages, but also the social significance of Agri-PV for a more sustainable future. In addition to the practical lectures, the program included a tour of the Solverde Community Power Plant’s agri-PV system. There, Professor Ulrike Feistel’s working group (Faculty of Civil Engineering) presented the latest results on soil water balance in agricultural photovoltaic systems.
Professor Karl Wild (Faculty of Agriculture/Environment/Chemistry) draws a positive conclusion: “Agri-photovoltaics combines agriculture and renewable energy in a way that represents a win-win situation for the environment and society. The high level of participation in this event shows how relevant and forward-looking the topic is.”
The event was organized by the HTW Dresden and the Saxon State Office for the Environment, Agriculture and Geology.
