“Suspilne” is now officially launching a sports channel – “Suspilne Sport”. It will operate on the basis of the satellite regional channel “Suspilne Uzhgorod” by decision of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine.
It is reported that they will try to make it available to Ukrainian users – there is a request for this from the audience of the channel, and OTT services, and providers. This is especially true during a full-scale war in the country, when not everyone has access to modern technologies.
Now sports broadcasts on devices with T2 technology provide excellent viewing data, so the Suspile Sport channel should also receive good activity among users and popularity at the national level. Also, the sports channel from Suspilne TV will be available in different language platforms, which will satisfy the needs of different categories of viewers.
The National Council, headed by Olga Gerasimyuk, made such a decision due to the fact that sports content in Ukraine is not yet at the proper level, and it still needs to be actively developed. Gerasimyuk herself said that basketball matches should definitely be broadcast on the channel.
