Suspicion of another cruciate ligament tear in SV Ried player Matthias Gragger

In May 2021, SV Ried player Matthias Gragger seriously injured his knee. The diagnosis: cruciate ligament tear. The 21-year-old quickly fought back with an iron will, but subsequently had to deal with further setbacks (inflammation of the pubic bone, adductor problems…). Gragger was on the pitch in 18 games last Bundesliga season.

During the Junge Vikings game on Friday evening in the Regionalliga Mitte, the defender had to be replaced in the 31st minute due to injury. According to OÖN information, there is an urgent suspicion of another cruciate ligament tear. An MRI scan will provide a definitive diagnosis.

The transfer of center forward Wilfried Eza is in the dry cloth. The official announcement of the transfer is expected early next week. A dangerous centre-forward would have done Riedern good in the 1-1 draw against Liefering on Friday evening. The Innviertler came to numerous conclusions, the lack of opportunity evaluation and an outstanding Liefering goalkeeper prevented an away win.
