A 17-year-old boy, a resident of the Mosmus village, was arrested today (Friday) after he ran towards a couple of policemen at a gas station at the Megiddo junction in the north while armed with a hammer. The policemen, from Umm al-Fahm station, shot at the suspect and wounded him slightly. Many police forces arrived at the scene, the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
The officers, who were at the scene in a police car, noticed the suspect walking “suspiciously”, it was claimed. After they approached him in order to identify him, he took the hammer out of his draw and started running towards them. As mentioned, the police were able to prevent the attack and arrest the suspect, without casualties to the forces.
Superintendent Danny Levy arrived at the scene of the incident and praised the police officers: “The pursuit of contact, the vigilance and vigilance of the force led to the end of the incident with no casualties. There is no doubt that with your quick and professional activity you saved lives.”
