At a time when the pandemic emergency requires the utmost attention and commitment from the institutions in guaranteeing a prevention system that works, a fundamental activity for the protection of the health of the Lucanians is abandoning itself to its fate “. This is what the general secretary of the CGIL Basilicata, Angelo Summa, affirms.
“It is disconcerting to verify that, instead of rushing to recover from the collapse of screening that occurred during the pandemic, one gets bogged down in a bureaucratic immobility that denies the enforceability of the right to health. The prolongation of the screening activity block – continues Summa – in nefarious synergy with the difficulties of the regional health system in recent months and in the full second wave of Covid, puts the health of 15 thousand Lucanian women at risk as well as frustrating the 20 years and more of prevention policies, the pride of our region. The blame game between Asp and the Region is unacceptable.
The Region intervenes urgently – concludes Summa – and guarantees the right to health of all Lucanians: oncological prevention cannot stop.
