Suspended prison and heavy fines required in the Terra Fecundis trial in Nîmes

One-year suspended prison sentences and fines of 90,000 euros were requested this Friday evening by the public prosecutor against seven farmers from Petite Camargue in the Terra Fecundis trial. The defendants are prosecuted for having employed South American seasonal workers in appalling conditions between 2017 and 2019. These workers were provided by the Spanish temporary work company Terra Fecundis against which a fine of 375,000 euros was requested. The trial, which was scheduled for a single day this Friday before the Nîmes criminal court, will not finally end until Monday with the defense lawyers’ pleadings.
